March is Here, Area Flooding, and Job News

Good Morning!  I'm quite relieved that March 1 is here.  It just seems to say Spring!  We have unbelievable rains here in TN and quite frankly we are already saturated with repeated rains over the last couple of weeks, so many creeks and rivers and low lying areas are in trouble or about to be.  Many schools are out b/c of the high water.  We are ok here - so far.  I'm not sure about work though - Opryland area flooded about 10 years ago.  I think we are ok.  So far so good.

George has survived 3 of the 5 lay off days this week.  He actually is considering applying with other places already just in case.  Even if he does stay it will be stressful but he'll still have a job.  So blessings either way.  We'll figure it out - one way or another.  The bad thing about this company's situation is that now that it's in the news and everyone knows it, and now that layoffs are starting - they very well could lose some of their best employees as they fear what will happen.  The cat is out of the bag now and will be hard for them to control.

We are very sad that one of our very good friends was laid off yesterday.  One of the folks we hang out with (he and his wife) and that is a very sad thing.  In talking with him though, he actually seems a bit relieved b/c his job had been stressful.  So I'm glad he is taking it well.  It really bummed George out.

Every time I get a text or phone call, I jump.  George tells me not to be stressed.  Trying not to.  I need to be the one telling him that.  I know God will take care of us whatever happens and we'll figure it out.

There is a fly the size of Texas in my living room.  I mean it's so big I'm almost scared of it.  It's like a gorilla with wings.  OMGosh.  You can hear it coming when it approaches and it's like a plane coming in for landing.

Well, I get my hair cut today.  I'm glad.  It needs it.

Hope you like the blog decor.  I was needing a change earlier in the week.  And picked the Portland, Maine look - but now that it's March, I'm ready for some green.

I will have to drink some extra caffeine and eat well today.  Because I woke up just about every hour on the hour.  Maisy woke me up at 11:30 and then 12:30 and then 1:30 - I think she had to pee.  I took her out at 1:30, mad as everything but too sleepy to show it.  Then I woke up about every hour after that b/c I couldn't get comfortable.  So not a very good night's sleep except for the first two hours.

Hope you all have a wonderful day.  I'm about to watch the news (flood warnings) and figure out what is for lunch. (If I need to take anything). I think I'd like to eat out but it's going to be a rainy day. So I don't know!

Well, ya'll take care.  This week is going by sooo fast!

  1. We do need some green indeed. I'm so ready for Spring. The waiting to hear what's going to happen is unsettling to say the least. It is important to stay positive. None of us are sure of what may come tomorrow, but we have today to make the most of. It's raining here too and will change to snow by tomorrow. Hopefully your area will be ok and not flood. We can't do any thing about it either. Stay safe and trust that all will be ok.

  2. prayers headed your way for george to keep his job.

  3. I saw where Texas is flooded as well. This is some strange weather we are having. U did good with the blog decor. It has been a rainy dreary day here. I went and got chinese for supper. I just did not feel like cooking.
