Smelling the Weekend, News from Texas, and an Overnight Growl Session

Can you believe it's Thursday already? Well Tuesday was calm.  Wednesday was it's counter-evil.  lol

Not a lot to tell but I came home, beating a Thunderstorm.  And did laundry, vacuumed and cleaned up as much as I could.  Having company tonight.  George is going to see a movie that he has been wanting to see.  I had two friends coming over but now it's just one and we are live streaming the other one in.  I'm going to get some fajitas for dinner - relatively healthy.  I honestly think that the two of us can split one order if I get sides.  Or I may get two and I'll have leftovers for lunch tomorrow.

George and I watched Below Deck.  And then Katy faced timed us from TX to show us the "finished" house.  It's beautiful.  Love the sun room and how you can sit and watch the sunset through the Mesquite tree.

They don't have much set up yet.  But she was working on it some last night - cleaning up from the remodel and setting up a trash can (stainless) and getting things ready for today's move in.  They have a stainless stove top but the oven/microwave stainless combo unit was faulty and has to be replaced.  And they are waiting for the washer/dryer to come so they can wash clothes.  Til then they have neighbor and friend, rancher, Clint, who is Cody's long time buddy - and he'll let them in to do laundry at his place.  They already have done a load or so.  So it's coming together for them.

Also Katy called me yesterday afternoon too - excited about seeing her class room.  It's really nice and big.  I guess it's true everything is bigger in TX.  lol  She loves it.  She is very excited.  She says it is VERY organized there - their system and ways of doing things.  She also was given a key to come and go at the school for the summer so she doesn't have to rush her room together in a day or two right before school starts.  She says she will work on it all summer.  She is just so excited.

So at 3 a.m. something happened with Maisy and Roger.  They got too close and touched and began growling and barking at one another.  So on the lights go and break them apart. Once they could see - they quit barking.  Geez.  That has not happened in a long time and I know Roger wasn't at fault.  Maisy has done this with Tugie so I know she is the culprit.  I'm a little miffed with her this morning.  She even growled at Tugie when Tugie got close to her this morning.  I'm changing her name to "Grumpy" today and she best get her best attitude back.  I will not put up with that.  Our other doggies were here first.  She has been so good.  Matter of fact they all seem a little less tense since Findlay is not running around.  Findlay definitely put them all in their corners - as she ran around the house tirelessly looking for things to do, people's attention, things to chew, and stuffed animals to tear.  A wild one that Findlay girl.  So the dogs came out of their hiding spots and layed about and walked about - we noticed that right away after about 24 hours of Findlay being gone.  I hate to talk bad about our Grand Dog though - she is also a delight!  We do miss her.  And we face timed with her too.  She heard our voices and looked everywhere for us.  She did look into the phone a few times as if she could see us.

So I need to get off of here to do a Target order so we don't run out of dog food for their breakfast in the mornings and also need some laundry detergent.  I've blown through it over the last week or so washing sheets and dog blankets, lots of towels, summer clothes coming out of the storage tubs - and I need to wash comforters.

The house is getting back to a normal doable state.  Matter of fact - other than our filthy carpets - it's looking pretty clean.  Not getting much time to work on the to do list.  And the June calendar filling up and we're starting on July - lol.

Oh someone had asked about our health insurance coverage for my Mammogram.  My husband carries us through his employer the one he's employed with until September  thru a severance package.  His agreement says he is employed and nothing otherwise.   I'm just worried they will try to pull a fast one and retro the coverage end date and cause an issue.  We should be covered but with this company - one never knows.  They kinda do what they want, but if they violate a Cobra law and mess us up - they will hear from us! :-O

Gotta go!

Tropical Storm, Wine, and Health Insurance

Well much of the heavy rain and storms missed us (so far) as far as the tropical storm goes.  I guess it's not over yet but not the rains and storms you'd think we'd have had.  Some of our area surrounding did get a lot and did get some tree limb damage and a little boy in west TN was struck by lightning.  That was so sad to hear.  Nonetheless it is soggy as we've had fine misty rain or a gentle rain from time to time with some periods of sun in between.  It's humid and soggy for sure.

I got my mammogram done yesterday in record time.  Hoping the insurance will cover it.  George got a letter from 401k saying he was terminated and giving him his options there.  However, no Cobra letter or no communication saying our health insurance was terminated.  The company is still doing business and are therefore subject to still conform to state and federal laws.  So we are in information gathering stages right now and will be looking for help on what our rights are.

He has never been given any information by his company other than his employment ends Sept 1.  So technically he should be getting a check with insurance coming out - until then.  Of course no one available to answer questions.  And obviously their HR staff overwhelmed.

Thursday when I checked - our insurance was still covered.  However they can do retro terms which scares me.  My mammogram is a claim that will be post bankruptcy date - not pre!  They need to figure this one out and quick as there is a group of folks falling into this category - not getting information and seeking help.  So he doesn't know if he is employed or termed.

He received a letter from the 401k company that he was termed.  If he has been termed he is due a Cobra letter and I'll have 30 days to enroll in my company.  What if they termed him at a different date than his signed letter and they failed to send Cobra and we miss the 30 day window to enroll in my insurance.  I will be inflamed at that point to the likeness of that spewing volcano in Hawaii.

When you know the law and you know it's not being followed and it impacts you and your household negatively - then it's time to do something and seek some help in figuring out our rights.  How this plays out in the next few days will be critical.  Right now we are information gathering stages.  This is really simple stuff here we're talking amidst a bigger complicated issue.  If a person is termed - they need to do the proper communication.  If not - then honor your promises.  It's Chapter 11 and his signed document given shows he is an employee til Sept 1 - and they need to acknowledge that like they do their other employees.  I really can't talk much beyond this right now.  But this is what we are dealing with.  I think it will be in theirs and everyone's best interest to resolve this quickly and nip it in the bud before it becomes another big issue for them.

And my fast went well yesterday.  Accept I didn't have enough of my berry liquid that I fast with.  I didn't realize I needed two of the 2 oz bottles per the 4 times a day that you get it.  I had only packed ONE per the 4 times.  lol  But I made it just fine.  And will know next time.  I switched from the powder to the little bottles.

I had a Zoom call last night with my team and it was my first one.  I was surprised when the cameras came on but I had a pink sticky note over mine.  It made me laugh.  The microphones were on too so I told George "I'm ON!" and of course everyone heard it.  lol  I was glad to have already put the sticky note over my camera b/c I was in my jammies.  Next week I'll stay dressed and remove the sticky note.  I was shy this week.  But I'll come out of my shell next week.  lol

And George bottled some wine.  Pinot Noir.  I had a tiny sip - hardly even a swallow.  Just to see the taste.  It's going to be a good one.  Pinot Noir has become my favorite red.  It's smooth w/o the Cabernet or Merlot bite to it. But I think I like them all.  I love a good sipping red.

And I need to go and get ready and get on with the day.  I'll be planning an evening with friends here at the house on Thursday - and need to figure out what to fix.  Two girlfriends coming over and we need to eat a healthy dinner so I'll be contemplating menu (easy) and getting some cleaning done - vacuum and dusting and getting the extra guest bedroom made back up.  Plus working on my "list" of things to do which is quite long right now.

Katy got fingerprinted in the state of TX yesterday for her "teaching" ID and today she meets with the staff.  I think tomorrow she has free - and perhaps the house will be done.  They are living out of boxes I think right now.  But in a pretty spot.

Well, I'm off to get make up on and dogs walked again!  Ya'll take care.  Hey it's over the hump day already!  Wow!

Texas Arrivals, Tropical Storms, and Planning Summer Bucket List

Well they (Katy and Cody) have made it to Texas and are on the ranch!

Their house is just gorgeous but it is not done yet.  Granite counters a gorgeous bathroom.  Stainless steel everything.  So nice.  So they are in guest quarters now and well - she sent pics of that - you should see the guest quarters, lol.  I'm not sure I should post those.  They have strict rules about posting of the property with the employees.  But I think I can sneak a pic or two of Katy's house when they finish - after all that will be their own living space while there on the ranch.  Their house is on some new property that was next to the ranch and they bought it and remodeled the house.

It will be interesting to hear of their new chapter in life.  Katy has a planning meeting with her school tomorrow.  Today I think she is going to go pick out furniture or be there for the delivery - something with furniture, I can't remember and also had other things to do today.

As for us - we had a relaxing weekend for the most part and yesterday a most relaxing day.  George got the yard mowed as the rain held off.  It began right after he finished.  I mean to the second!

So I worked in the house yesterday and reshuffled things around.  I took clothes rods downstairs and moved summer clothes bins upstairs.  I was surprised to fit in some of the things that I had kept in the storage to try on year after year in hopes they would fit again - and they did!  ;-)  So I usually have to wash the clothes that have been all stuffy sitting in the basement.  I also had sheets to wash for two bedrooms.  So I did laundry all day.  I still have not washed all the dog blankets.  The clothes and towels and sheets come first - then I can wash their stuff.  I'll focus on that this week.  I've put sheets back on our bed but not the guest bedroom yet.  I've vacuumed some but not the whole upstairs - but it's not too bad.  Will have to focus on that this weekend too.

I did get all my fall/winter clothes, scarves, purses, shoes, winter wear put up in the tubs.  Well - I switch the hanging clothes b/w my two guest room closets - but the other stuff other than coats - gets put up.  I put the two plastic drawer storage units back downstairs for basement use.  So my bedrooms are coming back to normal.  And so is my dressing room.  Haven't redone my jewelry yet or dusted but I'll save that for this weekend.

I worked on our bucket list some.  George and I worked on it together and came up with our list.  This weekend I'll work on actually making it on the Tyvek sheet and get it posted for our Bucket List section in the kitchen.

I chose not to work on the nutrition business yesterday - despite my excitement - so that I could focus on the house and get it back in order.  I don't want the house irritating me all week.  So I pushed for getting everything back in it's place and starting our new normal.

As you can see I worked on the blog topper (as of the date I typed this) and I'm learning a new way to do my blog topper.  It's not always necessary to have a background.  If it's white it looks pretty good and fits into the background.  I really like that and think I will do more w/o a banner background.  It just looks more professional.

I fixed spaghetti for dinner - used turkey meat and also honey instead of the sugar I normally use.  And I used brown rice spaghetti for the first time.  I am not going to get that again.  It wasn't bad, but it didn't hold very well.  It became mushy as rice can do.  And it also makes less spaghetti somehow.  I was glad I used the entire package.  I even stopped when it was aldente but - I should have poured cold water on it to stop it from cooking.  Nevertheless I had seconds, lol.  But I prefer a stronger hold to the spaghetti noodle.

Well I'm so glad Katy and Cody have arrived in Texas.  It's a relief.  And I pray that all goes well and they are happy and like it there.  If they don't they can always come back here!  ;-)  But I believe we will be going there for Thanksgiving and taking her Christmas belongings.  That is at least the goal we have been tossing around.

So the news around here besides the murder suicides that seem to happen every weekend now in our greater Nashville area - is that we have Tropical Storm/Depression Alberto coming today.  I think it will just be rain by the time it gets here.

So I have a Mammogram today.  And hoping there is no problem with the insurance.  George's old employer has not honored it's severance package with the onset of their Chapter 11 bankruptcy.  So I think it was Thursday that I actually called and checked to make sure insurance was active.  It was.  Chapter 11 does not completely remove them from responsibility to their employees and it should be business as usual, as he technically is an employee until Sept 1.  But his checks have stopped.  But so far the insurance has not.  I believe that even though they fall under Chapter 11 they should still be responsible for following laws regarding Cobra and such.  We have not received any communication about insurance being cancelled.  But the checks have stopped.  Insurance term dates can be retro - so it makes me a little nervous.  Hoping this situation is all resolved soon and that they handle it the right way by their employees - especially considering the length of time they committed to them.  We shall see as the days unfold.

George's job talking of coming on permanently but the big bosses have to approve.  Will see if the rubber meets the road.  Promises are always good to keep a temp around - it's happened a lot. But what counts is where the rubber meets the road, right?

Well, we know The Lord holds our future.  He knows our hearts and our minds.  He knows where He wants us.  The guys George works with at the mine are Godly men with Bible's on their desk.  George, I've noticed has been reading his more.  So that is good.  It's always good when you work with a Godly crew.  I don't think his other employer was so strong in that area.  At least I don't get that impression.  Good people, but perhaps not very spiritual.

Well, I am going to get some more coffee as I have time to since my Mammogram is not til 8:30 - I have to be there at 8 for paperwork.  I'll leave here about 20 til.  I'm cleansing today.  Instead of yesterday.  So will hit the reset button.  I'm all packed up and ready to go.

Here are things I'll be doing in the next few days/weeks ahead:

*Learning what conference calls to be on and starting that.
*Getting Lisa and Lou on the calendar for dinner
*Finish the 90 day plan
*Start the Mind/Body Program
*Work on my Vision Board (Goal Board)
*Schedule a Fall Sip/Shop at my house w/ 2 to 3 vendors included
*Schedule VAC days
*Buy a rug from Big Lots if they have one (I need a new one for an area in my house)
*Go to Kohl's and get a new bra

*Go to Netflix and reset, add new movies etc.
*Learn how to skype
*Watch some videos for my nutrition business
*Put the Bucket list to Paper

I also want to find time to read and also watch a couple of shows.

Soon I want to:
*See the Book Club movie
*See the Adrift movie

And if you think that is a lot, you should see the Bucket List - some of which include the above. It's quite aggressive, but an aggressive Bucket List with some fun, excitement, goals, and to do's is just the thing to do.  It keeps us focused.

And if THAT is not enough - there is also the WORK to do list.  And you should see THAT!

Well I'm actually looking forward to going back to work after a long weekend and a relaxing one.  The Mammogram was not good timing but - they had the opening for an early morning that meant I wouldn't have to wait.  I like doing it early in the morning b/c you can't wear deodorant - and so I can get it done and then put on deodorant.  Bad to have an appointment at end of day w/no deodorant.  lol  I imagine they have fewer appts at end of day but who knows.  I had already put it off as we have been so busy with open enrollment - so it was just time.

Well, better go.  Ya'll have a good Tuesday.  Seems like a Monday!  I hope I don't have to drive in torrential rain.  Pray for us today as we have to be out in it.

And they are off to Texas.....

Findlay, on the way to Texas

Well the 3:15 alarms went off way too fast this morning.  It's 6:40 a.m. now as I begin to type this.  They are nearly 4 hours on the road, having left just before 4 a.m. to get gas and meeting his parents at the gas station.  Prayers of course for them all.  Cody, Katy, and Cody's parents all in a caravan.

Katy had packed a Road Trip Snack Bag for each car.  There will be no stopping to eat until almost to Dallas.  I hate for them to be on the road for such a long trip and with Katy and Cody each having to drive by themselves.  I keep thinking maybe I should have gone.  But if I had, I'd probably driven myself and carried more things for them.  We have a few things left downstairs.  My hope is that the day goes by quickly for them and they will soon arrive.  Cody's parents will be there for the week.

Katy texted me this morning with the pic of Findlay.  She looks mad - like "really - you mean I'm gonna have to sit here like this for hours to come?"  At least she has Findlay to talk to though as she is in the front passenger seat.

There were no sad goodbyes.  We know how excited they are to get to their new home, and their new life.  We are excited for them.  Hanging around here was only "in limbo" waiting for the day and the day has arrived.  Tomorrow the fun begins - unpacking, settling - or at least trying to.  I'm not sure if the house is completely ready yet - with carpet still coming and so forth so they may have to wait another day or so.  We hear they may get to stay in the guest house.   I'm anxious to hear how it all goes.

George went back to bed this morning.  I had intended to as I had the decaf coffee - but I was too awake and so I got on PSP and made a new blog topper - for the summer look for June.   I admit I did shed a few tears when going in the bedroom and the bathroom and it looking so empty.  But I wouldn't ever want to wish her here forever, b/c I know she needs to follow her dreams.  And she belongs with her Cody.

I am, however, replacing the sadness about Katy moving to Texas with joy of getting my dressing room back - lol I actually began moving some clothes around yesterday while they were gone and since she was packed up.  I have a lot of my winter things now on the other guest bedroom bed.  I will iron up some clothes for the week, move the things from the plastic drawers to my chest of drawers, and move my jewelry back over.  And will dust and remake the bed.  And tidy up both areas.  I have a lot of stuff for good will too.

I need to vacuum as well.  I'm washing towels right now and will continue to wash up dog blankets.  I will work on the bathroom a bit and the fridge - all of this as I have time.  I need to bring my summer clothes up.

It's nice we have a 4 day week this week bringing the next weekend a bit closer to us.

I have a long list of things to do today.  And so glad to be home to do it.  I'll do what I can and the rest will have to wait.

I did finish a book yesterday.  I finished Billy Ray Cyrus book.  It's being replaced with Candy Spelling.  It was nice to actually finish a book.  lol  I've had these three going forever.

George and I are also wanting to make our Bucket List today.  I'm not sure we'll have time.

Yesterday was a nice quiet Sunday, which is why I had time to read and get a head start on clothes.  Last night George fixed a London Broil and steamed squash and a salad.  It was good.
And we watched Three Amigos - only part of the way.  The kids got home and then we all went to bed knowing 3 a.m. would soon be here.

So I'm going to go and get started on my day!  Or I may go take a nap - not sure.  lol

Happy Memorial Day!

Errand Running, Goal Setting, and Day Dreaming!

Lots of errands run yesterday morning!  We went to see Granny Jan - George's Mom.  She was in a good humor.   We headed out to pay a utility bill saving postage, and then to Auto Zone to get my wipers fixed which turned out to be a bit of a problem.  Turns out the Chevy Equinox has an odd one.  Took the guy a bit to get it fixed.

Then a quick stop at the Mount Juliet beer store so George could get something for the downstairs basement fridge - he gets cans for mowing the lawn.  Is that not the most Southern Redneck ever?  lol Anyway they always have the latest, most unique beers.  It's become a popular spot.  Our town is just cool I guess!

One of my favorite cool spots is Houston's meat butchery shop and grocery.  LOVE this place.  We went in and got a London Broil and some fajita meat to eat with rice or tacos to have something fresh for the fridge over the holiday weekend.

We ran by the house and dropped the meat off and grabbed the WRONG wipers that George had bought at Walmart, to return those and then we did some grocery shopping.  But before that we got the car washed.  It desparately needed it.  Forget the fact that it was going to rain - I just needed to get some of the dirt off!

I was glad to see the Vidalia onions were in at Walmart.  Yes!

George buying corn!  The corn was really good by the way - we had it for dinner along with salmon (that we got at Walmart) and vidalia onion cooked in the oven in a special dish that George fixed.

I had to snap some shots at the mini hamburger cupcakes. They are cute, however just the thought of eating one with all that sugar really turns my stomach.  That is a good thing right?  But they did a good job of making them look like a burger!

Look at this cake - oh my word!

And the cookie monster.........made out of two baby swimming pools.  How cute is that?

My Alexa grocery list makes me laugh.  George often adds weird things to the list.

Katy told me that she didn't say that - broke my heart.  I thought she was wishing me well.  Anyway, I think that George must've been talking to Alexa and I walked in and he said "hi Mom"  - he often calls me that in front of Katy and the dogs.  So George did both I guess.

We got our errands run just before the rain hit.   And got back to the house.

Yesterday the kids packed their vehicles with all their household stuff and most of their clothes.  Cody's parents came over and loaded their car.  They still have a lot of stuff that won't be able to go that they will get later.

Katy and Cody went to a family dinner at his grandmothers.  And they came back just as we were going to finish our movie after we ate a late dinner.  But we let them finish their movie.  And then we started our movie when it was over.  I tried to stay awake but fell asleep several times as I just could not stay up past 9!  So George stopped it.....again!  lol  Maybe later we can finish it.  I just can't hardly watch anything after 8:30.  I start getting sleepy.

Here's Katy and Cody watching a movie.

Here's Findlay laying on George's leg.  She can be so sweet when she wants to.  But lately she has taken to just randomly barking at Maisy.  She wants Maisy to play but Maisy doesn't want to play or no how to play - she just gets nervous.

So we slept in til 6.  Maisy let us sleep until then.  We all got up at once.

I asked George if he wanted to go to church this morning but he wanted to wait til next week to start back.  So that is fine.  I will do a devo here.  And I will get some things done in the house.  Much laundry to still do as the dogs blankets and our sheets and a bunch of towels need to be washed.

I will also work on organizing my life some in gearing up for this nutrition business.  I worked on my 90 day plan for a couple of hours yesterday.  Setting up a vision.  And learning.  I have a whole checklist of things to do, a new routine to set, gathering tools and such.  There is so much information in so many places.  I have numerous ways in which I'm gathering it for my own use as well.  The business has the customer site, your backoffice site, your own webpage site, your business website, a wellness website, several iphone apps, videos on vimeo, facebook health group, facebook wealth group (network marking part), instant messaging group for health, instant messaging group for wealth, and on it goes.  I have a notebook set up (in process - not finished) so I can flip to what I need in a hurry for my "how to's" and references, I have files set up for materials, and I have a little noteboook to take notes in, and a calendar for reminder lists.  I have a little white board and eraseable marker of things I need to do upcoming - like certain videos I need to watch, programs I need to sign up for, things I need to schedule, conference calls to join, tax things to look up - and things to do.  It's a bit overwhelming but I'm enjoying it and very hyped and very much believe in it and want to share it.  But I'm in learning mode.  I've committed to doing an hour or so a night.

I also want to read some since it's the holiday weekend.  I have all these books that I keep buying but have no time to read.  It's sad.

If I had the right amount of money - I'd travel, blog, read, cook, share nutrition with others and be on my own schedule doing it.  Our life now is close to that.  We travel some, I blog a lot, I at least love my job and what I do, but I don't get to read much.  I don't have time to cook much and learn new recipes, and honestly I don't have time to do this extra nutrition business.  However, just in talking with others when they are interested - I want to be able and equipped to share it and get credit for it.  But I think it would be fun to spend some time on the road in a RV seeing the US, and doing business on the road if needed.  How cool would that be?  I'd probably switch to Vlogging at that point.  lol  We could set up a Patreon account, go on YouTube like the day dreamers do- and oh what a world of travel that would be - I would love that!!!!  I'm so jelly over their lifestyle!

I know I know - my life is not at all bad.  We have a grand time.  I love our house - although it needs some upgrades here and there.  But I've heard it is cheaper to have the RV life in the long run.

Well, maybe one day before we are too old to drive.  I'm not even sure George would share this dream with me.  Usually my dreams are mine alone.  He and I usually don't dream together.  He gets upset with my dreams I think.  I am always looking beach side or travel.  I would have no idea what his dreams are.  He's never said.  It's just not something we share I guess.  Kinda sad.  I think he's afraid of my dreams b/c they cost money and I'm looked at as not ever being happy.  But I was always raised to have goals to reach.  We reached all the normal ones of marriage, kid, careers, house.  I realized I stopped dreaming at one point.  Other than travel and maybe living close to an ocean.   But I realize now I want to go beyond that and be sortof mobile.  I think it's nice to be small home based somewhere - maybe close to the coast or on a mountside somewhere.  But to be mobile and see places, cities, pretty sites - I would love it.

I'm ok with setting out for them jet set in the meantime - if we can get a dog sitter.  And a permanent job for George.  Then would we have the time off? lol  I guess I need to just go read books and quit dreaming!

In the meantime, reality hits - Katy and Cody set out for their Texas destination at 4 in the morning!  So an early morning for us all to set them off and we await word as to their arrival, hoping for texts in b/w.  I was tempted to schedule several days off of work and join the caravan and then meander my way back home via Chip and Jo Jo's - but - no need to spend the money or schedule the time and I'd have to do it by myself.  Sometimes that would be fun and sometimes not.  Anyway - off to get some work done.

Happy Memorial Day Weekend Ya'll!

Happy Memorial Day weekend everyone!

Yesterday was a quiet one and I was able to make some progress - lots of little things out of the way, a few problems solved, and then started on a bigger project.  Just continuing to come out of open enrollment and benefits distributions (communication/materials/govt required issues) and then on to doing the rest of my job and wearing all the other hats that get ignored from April to June.   Ooops talking about work!  Anyway the days there go so fast.  My assistant and I went to lunch.  I have been craving a baked potato for a week.  I figure there is a reason.  Finally got it and it was wonderful. I did have a roll though b/c it was on the table, hot with butter and was the yeast kind.  Rolls eyes.  I will never be able to resist all bread but I can rejoice that I am able to resist most bread and desserts now. So back to work and at one point, I looked up and most everyone was gone!  Only a couple of us left - I think I let the parking lot at 5 til 5:00, once all locked up, work put up and packed up.  Was at a good stopping point and storms were starting to fire up and you know I DON'T DO Storms!

So I came home and George and I had a relaxing evening.  We just had pizza.  I told him "let's just eat the frozen pizza in the freezer, I've eaten badly all week".  I's true I've eaten worse since we've eaten out.  I had Creme Brulee, Chinese Take out included a sugared Chinese donut at the end.  I've had Fried Hot Chicken.  lol  It's ok when it's spread out but this is our final week with Katy and also the week we had dinner out with Auntie M and Uncle K - so we have really partied hard this week!  lol  So pizza it was.  We watched Below Deck Mediterranean Episode 2, of the new season.  We began watching a movie that was one I ordered from Netflix.  I fell asleep in the middle of it.  So we stopped it.  lol  Then I went to bed about 9 ish and slept til 7.  Maisy woke me up at 4:10 which is the exact time my alarm normally goes off during the week.  It amazes me - these critters - with their internal clock - perfectly set to accomodate us - only it flaws for the weekend when we need to sleep late.  But I was thinking how perfectly made God made's best friend....if we don't get up - they remind us it's time.  I had to convince her that it was ok to sleep in and she finally settled.  lol

Apparently I was worn out for the week.  Sleep was so good.  And I got up and began doing laundry this morning, cleaned the kitchen and got the dishwasher rebooted and washed up remaining dishes.  We can go through some dishes and we've been using paper plates too this week.

Katy made eggs and cinnamon rolls.  I ate the eggs and not the cinnamon rolls since I have been so bad this week.   That was tempting though.

I've started on the laundry.  And making progress with that.  I've bleached and scrubbed the tubs, changed the towels and bath rugs etc.

Katy and Cody got their new phones yesterday!  Got their banking done.  The ring will be picked up today (she had lost another small diamond).    They ate with friends last night.

This morning they began loading their SUV and Truck with all the stuff for Texas.
I don't think everything will fit.  I told her if we came down for Thanksgiving that we may can bring her Christmas stuff down for her.  That has been coming to mind as we would have some time off for travel.  But I don't know yet.  We are just thinking about it at this point.

Well, I have very little to share this morning besides all that.  George and I are going to Walmart here in a few.  We are running low on doggie treats, need to get a few items for the weekend, and want to get some Cod for dinner - not sure where that will come from.  We have to run to Lowe's also as there is a part we need for the vent above the oven.

We also have an iphone charger crises.  George's went missing- so he borrowed mine but I didn't realize it and asked if he's seen my charger.  Of course no one likes it when I ask where my things are.  They think I'm making accusations.  I'm just asking if anyone has seen it.  lol  But I am the bad guy when someone moves my stuff I guess.  I sat down to transfer my photos and it was gone.  We can buy another if needed.  Earlier in the week the wine cork screw went missing and that has been a mystery all week.  We found out it is at Katy's friend's house - she took it to a party.  So I guess we'll buy another one of those today.  I can't use the other one we have - it's weird and I'm not strong enough to use it.  Gotta be able to get into the wine when you need it!  lol   Then we got our computers mixed up.  They look just alike.  I had put mine on a table and then mine got moved to another table and Katy set hers where mine was - so I came through and grabbed hers.  lol  She caught it before I plugged it up and tried to blog.  I guess I'd have been really confused when I tried to get in and it wouldn't let me in with the password.

I think the spirits above must get a big kick out of the comings and goings and the mysteries of all the things we lose, move, replace - only they really know where the mates to the socks went.

I think we'll be ordering another charger this weekend.  lol  Now George feels like he can't borrow mine b/c I had asked where it went.  I just wanted to know where it was.  I never mind the borrowing as long as it comes back to its spot.

Anyway, I'm gonna take my "bad guy" self (since I am bad for asking where my lost things are) off to go do something fruitful.  Kinda getting hungry for lunch too.

Well, ya'll have a grand and glorious Saturday.

Cody Has Arrived and Hot Chicken Night

Guess who is home! Smiles everywhere.  Tomorrow I’ll have to share a cute video of Findlay and Cody’s reunion. That dog was so excited.

Katy and Cody played x-box and then we headed on to Hattie B’s and had HOT chicken. I escalated to “hot” and it was just right for me. Here’s Hattie B’s:

George patiently waits....

Then everyone wanted to get some kind of coconut drink to take back to TX so George took them to the midtown wine store.

Very impressive lol...

That’s all I got today. Pics and only a few words blogging on the go. Fixed breakfast for all- bacon, eggs, toast.

As always glad it’s Friday!

Transition weekend ahead as the kids pack, visit family and friends and head out Monday.

Wrapping Everything UP!

Just a quick pop in.

Yesterday was a busy one.  I was able to get a ton done!  Our office was quiet and hardly any long term interruptions.  So that was good.  At 5 I ordered chinese to pick up.  That was a really good experience.  I think perhaps I may do that again for George and I some night.  It was really good.  I put white rice on my plate and didn't eat much of it.  I got some of those Chinese donuts for the girls, knowing that I would have one.  They are like donut holes dipped in sugar.  I did have one!  But for the most part dinner seemed healthy.  Chicken and snow pea and also beef and vegetable.  George and I are each taking the leftovers of the main dishes for our lunch today.

The Bible study and girl time was fun.  We wrapped it up!  I offered the possibility of doing another one in the fall.

Katy came home at the tail end of it from her party with her teacher friends.  They gave her a going away party and it was really sweet the things that they gave her.

George had a nice dinner out with a former vendor he did business with, which is nice.  He also made reference to the possibility of George running a Nashville warehouse for him but would involve sales - anyway his job he has now made mention that they have intentions to keep him but has to be approved and asked him what salary he would want.  So hopefully something will come about it.  He loves his current position and they seem to like him.  I told George it's great everyone is thinking positive - so the rubber meets the road with the OFFER itself though.  God is in control.  All is going well so far.

I texted George around 10:20 saying "Just checking on you".  And at midnight didn't have any answer so I was really concerned.  They had gone to the steak house and then went to "The Goat" and he said they thought it was 10:30 or so and it was already midnight.  So I called him and he answered by saying "I'm on my way - I took him back to his hotel."  He said "man I'm gonna be sleepy tomorrow, but we had fun".

So of course that meant I didn't get sleep either b/c I was worried about him being out on the roads.

Cody was to leave this morning at 4.  He should be on the road now.  He was concerned that the carpet was not in the house yet and wanted the house to be completely ready as they would be in it Monday.  Carpet scheduled for Tuesday.  But then they offered to put everyone in the guest house.  Cody was thinking he should stay and help figure it all out but he is coming.  They have a lot to do this weekend - including getting new iphones.

A diamond fell out of Katy's ring yesterday - she had just gotten one put in.  She was disgusted and upset as she doesn't have time to get it done.  She is going today to beg to see what they can do to rush it and pick it up by Saturday.  Good luck with that I say. I think all the packing and being into boxes both here and at school has weakened the settings in her ring.  Last day - 1/2 day - of kids in school.  Tomorrow final day - for Katy.

Anyway, we are all a bit tired this morning.  I've had to wash dishes, and get towels going.
I better get going.  Much to do to get out the door.

And I need a 2nd cup of joe!  Have a great day!

Tales from a Tuesday!

I snagged a pic of this from Katy's instagram.  This is a 2nd time that a clothes rack has fallen over.  At least it did not scratch furniture this time!  I know that she is looking forward to having life with clothes in a closet.  I'm also looking forward to having clothes come from a closet as well instead of hanging all around the room whatever I'm wearing for the week. We've been living topsy turvy as far as clothes go so I didn't have to move two closets around again (after we had just done so).  The racks seemed a good idea at the time.  They are just not very sturdy and not meant for that volume.  My undies and pj's are in a plastic tub on top of the guest room bed, so we've all been patient and I don't wish my daughter away and I'm sure she will miss us too - but I know we are all looking forward to having our stuff in it's space - space where it is put away but yet easily extractable.  I'll be able to get to my closet, dresser drawers, and jewelry box again.  Right now my earrings are in egg shell cartons in the guest bedroom.  lol

Drove thru some intense rain to get there but....We ate at a really nice restaurant last night, Sperry's, with Aunt Martha and Uncle Ken and Momma.  I caught a pic as we were heading out the door.

I think Aunt Martha was checking out one of their antiques.

I loved their stain glass and their coffee espresso machine.  What a big one.

Well, I got the Queen cut Prime Rib.  It was heavenly.  The restaurant was more pricey than I had remembered.  I was hoping no one would complain.  No one did to me.  But they did let me pick!
My steak was one of the best I've ever had.  So they know how to do it right.  I'd like to go back sometime.   It was really good.  Uncle Ken bought our dinner.   That was kind!

George got Creme Brulee.  I did not eat the bread though, but I did have half of the creme brulee.  lol  Oh well.  Now I predict that my arm will be hurting today or tomorrow, with inflammation.  But it was good.  A minor setback but a good one.  lol.

George got an email address with his new employer which made him feel special.  I hope that he will get to stay - but we don't know that so he has to keep his eyes open and after our big blow out of celebration this week - eating out, my shopping, and so forth - and enjoying time out with Katy before her sendoff - we will spend next week and beyond in a pretty severe "cut back" mode.  We do have a few things that we will do - a few things with other couples - and George wants to see the Rolling Stones display -  so lots of things there to look forward to in b/w being cheap.

We got home after 9 and it was 10:15 when I laid my head on my pillow.

The 4:10 alarm was not a kind thing.

I have not had time to spiffy up any more at the house.  What damage we can do to a house in ONE day!  But the Bible study crew is coming over tonight.  And I'm getting Chinese take out for us on the way home.  This is the last one.  I finally got all my 5 days of lessons thanks to having time to finish it at lunch.

So today I'll be eating light due to the big meal last night and probably tonight.  I'm thinking shakes and a can of tuna, lol.

Oh, the pina colada shakes came out with Isagenix and I ordered that.  You have to get the special flavors fast!  Last time I waited to the weekend to do my normal order and it was gone!

Well, I need to go so I can try to clean up some.  I need to vacuum, clean up the kitchen mainly.

Tomorrow Cody arrives.  So say special prayers for his drive from way past Dalls - TX to Nashville.  We'll take him out for some Nashville Hot Chicken when he arrives.

I think by Friday I'll be dragging as I'm sure we'll be out late!  Will certainly be ready for sleep by the weekend.

Next week kicks off my adventures with the new business.  I'll be in learning mode and planning mode.  I've had to step away from everything the last couple of weeks or three - due to the Bible Study - and trying to get the lessons done.  I'll have some time back once my house is in order again.  Not much time but I'll have some time to focus more on it.

Anyway, ya'll have a good Wednesday and here I go diving into mine!

Much Needed Peaceful and Productive Monday

Nice and peaceful day yesterday.  Was able to work on a long project without having to wait until 4 to get started.  Love a day with maximum concentration and minimal interruptions!  No squirrels, no lingering llamas, no squirreling dramas. Life was good.  I specifically prayed out loud to get it, rebuking the devil to stay away from me and mine. ;-)

The cleanse day went well.  For some reason I was hungrier than normal though.  But it's easily doable.  There is never a irrational hunger - and what hunger there is does not last long b/c you get something every hour on the hour.  I'm having that awesome shake right now, the morning after.

Katy and George went to Koi for dinner.  They asked if I minded.  I think that is so sweet that they asked.  They didn't want to offend me on my cleanse day.  But that is their special place - it's not one of my favorites so they knew it was a good time to go.  Nice for me too b/c I don't smell food cooking on cleanse day.  I deal with it, but it is hard sometimes.  At dinner is when you are most likely to cave in.  But I had my Harvest Thins.  It was my dinner instead of my last "satisfy cravings" snack and instead of my last chocolate.  Yes, you get chocolate on cleanse days.  The cleanse days really work each week to boost your metabolism.  You get a low calorie, fat burning day, and you get a little something every hour.  The Cleanse for Life liquid is very filling and you get that 4 times per day - it's a berry flavored drink.  I've heard it's good to have days with varying amounts of calories - to keep your body in check.  I have been using the Ionix (b-vitamins, stress elixer) in powder form from a container and also the Cleanse for Life in powder.  This time I have on order the stress powder (that you put in water) in little "to go packets" for my daily Ionix.  It's already measured and will be the best solution.  I often drink half a bottle of water and then pour Ionix into the remaining half of water and get my highly needed b vitamin and stress reducer!  I also ordered the liquid tiny to go bottles of the Cleanse for Life drink for cleanse days- so no more measuring the powder and shaking it up - on that either.  My e-shots are working well on cleanse days - for a shot of energy - it's green tea infused with a raspberry flavor.  I need to order some more.  They are expensive - but no more than a Starbucks cup of coffee and these are infused with vitamins and adaptogens and green tea extracts (I think).  It gives you a lift - no more than a cup of coffee and there is no sugar and not a lot of caffeine.  It's not like other energy drinks.  It's just a shot of goodness and truly takes away the gnarlies in the late afternoon.

So I came home and with my newly unleashed shot of energy within me, was able to clean up the kitchen, do my Bible study, and make reservations for tonight at a really cool place to meet up with my Aunt Martha and Uncle Ken from Jacksonville.

So....Findlay would not let me concentrate on the Bible Study - for some reason she barked and barked and barked at me.  I tried barking back.  lol  I tried growling back.  I threatened to put her in her cage for a while and then she quit after I began counting to TEN.  After SIX, she decided not to try me anymore.  I even tried to make her quit by saying "in the name of Jesus, quit barking".  lol lol  No it didn't work.  I thought if it was the devil maybe she would quit.  I read a book one time that a dog would behave when you read it scripture- Jan Karon's books.  Not this doggie.

Somehow I managed to worm my way through 2 Timothy and Paul's coming to the end of his journey and calling for his friend Mark and his cloak and his manuscripts.  Somehow in our own individual ways - we (Paul and me) fought the good fight, we kept the faith - whether it be Paul in his ministry or me in TRYING to get Bible study with Findlay barking like a madman.  lol lol

My family came home, my chores were done - only ONE more day of Bible Study which I will do at lunch today.  So I folded towels (Ok so maybe one more chore) and watched a couple of Keep Your Daydream shows, including the one they posted Sunday.  They will be going to Alaska soon and I'm looking forward to that!

Look them up - Keep Your Daydream on Youtube.  You will be entertained.  They are so interesting.  They do beautiful videos.  They should have their own TV show and I bet one day they will.  What is so need about YouTube is that technically it IS TV now.  I mean it's on our TV and that is how I watch them.  The scenery is beautiful and we get to experience a lot of what they are experiencing.
I love seeing all the different towns and beaches and locations out west.  It's been very exciting.

So you all take care and I'm off of here to get ready for work.  Can't wait to see Auntie M and Uncle K afterwards.

Lettin' the Hippie come Out and Be Yourself!

Well, yesterday was quite wonderful.  My laundry was already done and only needed to iron a few things.  That was done quickly.  George laid out venison steaks for dinner.  And Katy asked how my nails were doing.  I needed the mani - could have waited a week or two on the pedi - but we decided to go for both since it would be our last one for a loooooooong time.  And we went to Subway for lunch.  I got a turkey on whole grain and wished I'd gotten the salad - it was so boring.  I'm used to the Italian sandwich meats.  Live and learn.

Then we went to Walmart to get a few grocery items for the week.

In honor of the Podcast "Eat this not That" I will say that I have converted the following:

1.  Regular peanut butter to just natural peanut butter.  No random oils.
2.  Totino's pizza to the Cauliflower crusted pizza which is all the rage and just as good and much better for you.
3.  Instead of sugar, I cook with honey - as far as the sauces are concerned.  I know that may not work with baking but I don't bake much so....

Here's my toes.  I finally got the aqua color and it makes me smile.  Why not let the hippie within just come right on out?

"Just be you"...what others think...well usually they are wrong anyway .....

I saw this on instagram and immediately loved it.  Of course I can't always agree to being messy, but I can most certainly have levels of complexity to my spirit.  I can't even figure myself out at times.  So I guess I can't expect others too.  Even when they try, they get it wrong.  But be brave, show up, face the bull, horns and all - grow a few of your own - be calm, be you, and explain away if you are lucky to have a bull (or bully for that matter) that listens.

It is sad we have to explain ourselves to others so much, but sometimes it's necessary - since they DO get it wrong.  Sometimes it matters.  Sometimes it doesn't.
But the "wheels on the bus go round and round don't they? All through the town."  That wasn't my phrase - I think that Purple Barney said it?  Or was it someone else?   Maybe Baby Bop? lol How quickly we forget.  But since the bus rolls us over often, we need to be brave and face it - b/c often we are not the one driving the bus - even though some think we are!

So yeah, that saying made me think of the fact that we need to just show up as you are, be yourself, and be ready to stand up for yourself.  And don't be afraid to - otherwise the bus will run right over you - or maybe it already has.  People think you are driving but failed to understand you were run over and back there on the pavement trying to pick yourself up.

Oh the misinformed!  What shall we do with them?  lol

Anyway on to the future, the next crises.  What shall it be?  It never takes long! lol  The devil is ever present in his ability to screw everything up and try to mess with me.

Our air here in the SouthEast has gone soupy - we had storms nearby but only the rain and distant thunder made it over our way.

I had a hard time concentrating on the Bible Study.  I only have one day out of 4 done, so I will need to try to get a couple of days done a lunch and finish the rest tonight.  I'm not sure I'll be able to do it tonight.  It's hard to concentrate on the evening of a cleanse, so we'll see.

I have enjoyed our Bible Study but it has been hard on me to do one so intense (so many lessons required).  I am looking forward to a break.  It's also hard to worry about having the house clean.  Even though I do the preliminary stuff and George and Katy have brought the final day to a shine.  It's taken all three of us to make it decent.  I will be glad to host again but I need a break.  I would like to go back to church.  It's been hard to do both.  I've needed the time on Sunday to get this lesson, and we've been so busy on Saturday's usually that I have had to have one day to wash our clothes, get groceries or orders done, ironing, and try to do something in the the house to get it clean for the next go 'round.  So all was great.  The last one is this week.  I'll take a break and offer another in the fall!

George fixed us some Sangritas.  They were good.

All the dogs love it when I do my Bible Study on the sofa.  I had a dog on each side and Tugie at my feet on the ottoman.

While doing my study, I remembered that my Dad used these to personally study with people - one on one.  Ivan Stewart did this.  We got to meet Ivan Stewart.  It seems like he was from Oklahoma City.  Might have been Arkansas, I can't remember.  Oh yes - it was OKC b/c I see the address below.

My Dad taught a class on this....and taught others how to use the Bible Study.

He used this also.

We DID go house to house in Roxboro, North Carolina to build up a brand new church of Christ there called Roxboro Church of Christ.    I looked it up on google, pictured below.  I was a young teen when we went and we were in groups of 2 or 3 and went door to door and tried to get people to agree to an open bible study.  I don't think we would do that now.  It's too dangerous.

Anyway, that provided some fun memories.  Those Bible Studies are still available.  They are good tools to use to study the Bible and bring out the gospel to another.

Well, I need to go and get ready and get out the door.  It's cleanse day!  After the splurge bites this weekend,  I need it for sure.

A lot of work to do today and I hope I'm left alone this week to be able to do it.

Ya'll have a great day.

One more week with Katy - she packed a lot of stuff up this weekend.  She is in her final days.  Cody arrives on Thursday.   Bye for now!

Shopping and a Fun Day Out

Well, having got a jump start on the house on Friday, I was ready to go out and do something.  George had gone yard sailing really early (before I was ready to go out.)  Katy was invited to go out with my SIL and niece, so I decided to go find my own adventures.

I had a cauliflower pizza for breakfast which was heavenly - a gift from my friend Lisa J to try it.  Loved it.  So I set out shopping to a store I had seen on the way to work.  So I drove out to the "green bridge" close to Donelson.  And went to Burke's Outlet and then to Marshall's.  After that I figured I had done enough damage and I came home.  However, I was in the mood to "sale" shop - a little "sailing" of my own.  I was ready to shop my way home if I had to - to find some bargains.  But it only took two stores.

I liked "Oh the places you will go" b/c it will go next to the photo print that I bought for $19.99 framed of a road going into a forest.  ;-)   When I need to I can look up and smile.  It will go up on the opposite wall at work where I had not found anything to go there.  It'll be perfect.  The "finds" that God leads you to!  He knows my heart.

And I found clothes for both me and for George.  Cha- EEp!  (Southern way of saying "cheap" in a big way. lol

I found tops for $10 that had my blues/greens colors that I love.  I now have two pineapple shirts.  I guess they are in!  I love my white pants in the summer and dismayed my new ones I had bought early on are now way huge on me (dismayed but glad) and so I bought another pair a size smaller.

And that linen striped "beachy" blouse~ I love that!

I got George 2 shirts in safety colors b/c that is what they wear in the mine office (although he won't be going into the mine area unless he stays on full time) and he has some shorts.  He was thrilled.  They were 50 and 60 dollar shirts for like $12 bucks.

These stores I went to do not get the traffic that the stores closer to us do.  So I'm going to claim this as my prime shopping spot from now on.  I get more for my money b/c less people are there to get the deal before me.  George and I have had success here before when shopping at Christmas.

I also bought a little table for the sun room for $19.99 to put my coffee/wine on in my favorite chair in the sunroom.

Speaking of sun room I'm going to have to clean it again.  The pollen has come through the screens and you should see the glass top coffee table and end table.

I'll do that after Katy leaves I guess.  I have a whole list of things to do after Katy leaves.  I don't know why I'm waiting but...I guess I'll just be getting the house put back together, and holding off big plans til then.  Mostly I think it will give me something to do once she is gone so I don't fret over missing her and knowing she is away.  She'll only be a skype away and 12 to 14 hours away.

Let's just address that now:

*I will be moving my dressing room back in that bedroom she is in and will be able to "play with my clothes" and get my summer clothes out.

*I will do our summer bucket list.

*I will work on my 90 day plan with the new business and begin learning more on that.  I am such a believer in this system.  That I want to be prepared to help people when they ask.

*Will probably switch from doing Bible Study to going back to church

*Will do some meal planning - since it'll be the two of us it'll be more predictable and I want to eat some veggies and learn to make really good healthy meals, proving that eating healthy can still taste good.

* I want to visit some farmer's markets

*I want to schedule hikes with friends as a new hobby and get in some exercise and get to spend some quality time with friends as well.

*I really want to work on writing "the book" - I saw my layout and plans for it the other day and it made me itch again to get started on it.

*Dang I want to read too.  I wish there was two of me to do all the things I want to do.

(A lot of these things will be going on the summer bucket list).

Oh well, back to blogging about yesterday:

George surprised me and took a pic of himself with my phone too.  Does he have green hair here?

So George took some pics so I could model my weight loss.  I'm getting a bit better about having my pic taken now that I'm losing.  That is awesome!!  Still a ways to go though.

I also did not wear make-up.   I think having nutrition in your system, help with your skin too.  Although I still wear makeup to work - I'm starting to wear it less often.  I will always wear eye make up though.  I love natural looking eye shadow, eye liner and mascara - although the eye shadow rarely stays on.

Me and my Maisy girl

I really think my face glows more.  I feel so much better.  The inflammation is gone.  I feel 20 years younger.  No longer stiff.

And the cleanse days, take the visceral fat right off of your body.  Folks, I have really not even been exercising.  I've really not even been using the shakes the recommended amount.   I only do one a day and sometimes zero, but I use the system to supplement.  When I'm hungry and have no time I eat the meal replacement bar for breakfast.  The shake only takes a couple of minutes to fix.  I can do that and drink it on the way to work.  And I keep their snacks with me all the time.  I look forward to cleanse days b/c it's a reset button.  Monday's are good b/c we always splurge a bit on the weekend.  I have worked to find alternative ways to eating the food we like in a more nutritious way.  If I want something I eat it - but only a bite - and most of the time after eating nutritious food - I don't want the food that is bad for you.  The cleanse days keep me from craving sugar.  I no longer crave anything sweet.  I no longer drink caloric drinks - except for a cocktail or wine - when I have them.  I have found that Michelob Ultra suits me fine for a low carb beer.  It doesn't make me feel all bloated.
I accepted the challenge and I'm able to do it.  And it is working.  The system that I am doing has the vitamins and supplements and the shakes, snacks are also filled with nutrients. When I go back to the doctor, I am expecting that my numbers will be better.  I'm also not eating as much carbs, eating more protein, cutting out as much of the vegetable oils as I can and buying things with olive oil, coconut oil as I can.  Go ahead and cook with real butter.  Avoid margarine.  I've been avoiding white potatoes and white rice and sugar and corn syrup and artificial sugars, and I have avoided enriched flour as much as I can.  I have not cut out tortilla chips!  I limit the breads to whole grain and even limit that as much as I can.  I eat tuna plain now instead of crackers and bread - but I'm ok with that.
It doesn't mean if I go to party I may not reach for the cracker and dip though.

When I am by myself I eat better and I save my splurge time for when I'm out with my family or friends.  I laugh with my friend Lisa J that "it has to be a lifestyle" - that is my excuse to eat something bad here and there, lol.  We laugh when we say we ate something bad b/c we add to the sentence - "has to be a lifestyle ya know".  But still the weight loss comes b/c we get better at eating better and the system helps boost the metabolism and get the nutrients in there so your body can work like it is supposed to.  I'm just so thrilled!

Well so then we all got home within about the same hour and half.  Then we headed out again for our evening.

Bar Louie, in Nashville, TN

We were so excited to go get a drink a Bar Louie - only to realize the service was VERY SLOW - annoyingly so.  Like they FINALLY brought my drink and George's and totally forgot to bring Katy's.  I had to ask the waitress who only came out into the area about every 15 minutes and no where seen any other time.  We ordered an appetizer.  We were finished with our drinks long before the appetizer came out.  The appetizer was great.  A shrimp tempura of sorts with 3 different sauces.  A few bites each.  And we had no plans for another round there.  We did not want to give them the business.  Too many other places around that give a better service.  The atmosphere was not engaging or special in any way.  It was kind of dark and - enhhhh.  No words - so off we went.

We went ahead to "The Pub" across the street.  In light of the royal wedding and the fact that Katy and I both wanted to go there.

I loved the Pub!  You know I found out from my ancestor check - that I am English/Scottish in my bloodline.  I was thrilled to know.  There was some German as well but a majority percent of English/Scottish.  I'll have to share my 123andMe chart with you.  If I have not already.

I just REALLY loved the place.

See, me telling you about eating healthy - but we do have a few splurges.  I had a bite or two of scotch eggs.

Loved the "hat" in honor of the Royal wedding.

The Pub, in Nashville had a 5:00 a.m. brunch in honor of the Wedding

I saw this on Instagram yesterday and had to save it!  LOVED it.  Just threw that in for inspiration!

George wanted a pic of this!

A bit of British Explanation of Verbiage.  I may start using some of these!

The bar area and the restaurant as a whole was just beautiful.

While at the bar waiting for table, discovered the purse hangers.  These British (my people, lol) they are so smart!  ;-)

Excited to discover that the Pub's "Best Effin Mule" - tastes exactly how George makes them.
I told George we may have to have his Best Effin Mule at home sometime.  I plan to include Moscow Monday Best Effin Mule night on the summer bucket list.

Naughty Chips, at The Pub
So I told 'em I'd eat whatever they wanted for an appetizer.  I wanted Katy to enjoy her last shindig with us - although we may find room for another Scoot Out or two.  She she and George picked the Naughty Chips.  And naughty sinful they were.  Some type of cheesy addicting gravy sauce with onions, chives, mushrooms.  I had a few - tried to stay away as much as I could - but they were insanely heavenly.  We only ordered two entrees.  We were going to order one.  But I didn't think that would be enough.  I wanted both fish and chips and also the lamb burger.  Katy didn't want lamb but it was good.  I ate some of it with the bread but a lot without.  And had a few bites of fish. Few bites of slaw.  And a few bites of their corn which was the vegetable of the day.

Oh my!  Wonderful.  I'm so glad not to have devoured into the whole thing and not even all of my portion but it was good.  We then went for a good walk around the Gulch.

I think I could live in the Gulch.  ;-)  There is a Starbucks, a Milk and Honey place, a little health nut grocery store called the Turnip truck.  A nice package store.  All kinds of restaurants, a brewery, and a few shops.

And then we went to Frugal McDougle's - to get some wine at good prices.  I'm really not sure that they are so good these days at being frugal, but we went in while we were there.  It is a huge wine/liquor store.

Then we headed home.

I slept great last night.  Woke up once or twice at my normal wake up time.  Might have woken up when George got in bed.  Doggies slept good.  Maisy has begun to snuggle some with me.  I love that.  Roger snuggles too.  But Maisy has begun curling up next to my legs where as she used to sleep not touching anyone.  Roger is up by my head and often has been snuggling against my head or my arm or back - however I'm sleeping.  It's so awesome to wake up in the middle of the night and have doggies sleeping against you.  I love them so.  And as I type this.  I am in the sun room holding on to the last of the cool air as the sun slips higher into the sky - fans blowing to aid the coolness that is slipping away to heat.  I have Findlay on the left on the couch looking out into the trees.  I have Roger to the left of my feet.  I have Maisy on the love seat next to me.  And Tugie in a sun spot on the floor behind me getting some Vitamin D.  Findlay will soon be leaving us and I will miss her.  George has lovingly called her "Little Stink".  She is a Stinker.  lol  She is always getting in to something.  She loves to play and will definitely get your attention.  She is also known for jetting herself - yes jetting herself - into our Bible Study.  She is in your face, on your neck, have to be retrieved - it's not a slow thing either - it truly is "a jetting" - you are sitting there one minute and suddenly you have a black leech of a thing on you wanting to sniff, lick, play, and talk you into giving her attention.  It happens before we can stop it.  So George has had to try to keep her occupied during our Bible study.

Only one more week of Bible study.  Speaking of - I need to get mine done!  I'm slacking this weekend so far and shocked b/c I thought I'd have done it by now but I think I needed to take a break from everything - from work, from the normal routines of life, from the business, even from Bible Study - but I still prayed and of course love my Walk with Him.  You know how in the Bible God was with someone as a breeze or a small wind blowing thru?  I've read that.  There have been times when I have been outside that a brief wind will come through - enough to get my attention in a otherwise STILL environment.  That happened yesterday.  I looked down the street - the trees were not moving.  Could this be?  Oh YES, it could be!  And immediately afterwards the red birds flew around me.  Yes, he absolutely literally walks with us.  Even when we take a break!

And it's been an awesome break!

So today is Bible study, focus on the house a bit so it'll be ready for Wed nite, go to the grocery b/c we are out of veggies, and bottled water! And my favorite tuna.  I want more cauliflower pizza - maybe a salad.  So ya'll have a good weekend. We are having deer steaks tonight and I hear margarita's.

And so folks....let's begin the LAST week of Katy being with us!  It's going so fast.  I love her.  I will miss her.  But she is so excited to go and be with her Cody and he is coming for her to collect her and take her home like a good Prince Charming would!  ;-)  Their castle on the ranch is almost ready!  We are supposed to set up our skypes today!  Maybe we'll do that during margarita time.
