A Day in Weatherford TX and Lab Results

Katy fixed whole grain pancakes, bacon, and fruit for us yesterday. We had a lazy morning.

Roger snoozed.

We headed out to Weatherford, TX about an hour away.
We ate at a restaurant called Drakes Yoke.

And had the best fried oysters ever with spinach and bacon.

And I had a grilled chicken Caesar salad which was incredible. The lettuce was even grilled - but only for a few seconds and called “mesquite grilled”.

Afterwards we found some Christmas shopping luck at a place called Lone Star Dry Goods.

Here is the pic of the restaurant.

And we went to Hobby Lobby. Katy misses her Hobby Lobby fix. So she had a list of things to look for.

Then we might have found a brewery! lol

On the road back home....I snapped a pic of this.

We were going out to a steakhouse for dinner but everyone was thinking of just being home. So Katy called in an order from a place that has a special on Tues nights. Steak dinner for 2 for $25.00.  So two of those made dinner for us four and that came with baked potato, salad, and a side, and a roll.

I took this pic on the way back to Breckenridge as the sun went down in the valley below us.

And the day went by fast as they all are! I got one of my reports back from my lab work. It was not clearly stated but in medical code. I emailed asking for results in English lol.  But til I got an answer I googled the code and found out what it was I had, and how difficult it was to get rid of, and figured out what to eat and not to eat and natural remedies versus antibiotics so I could make a decision and was thankful it wasn’t cancer - but then after all that I got an email from my doc office saying that the code meant I was negative for that not positive so I had to laugh! All that research for nothing. There are 3 more tests that are not back yet and she said they take up to 2 weeks.  So we still do not know anything. Overall getting better slowly- setbacks, then better, and repeat. But better than the initial onset.  May be we will know soon.

As I type this we are on our way to Dallas. Katy loves to go and we were willing. She and George have some places to take me that they went to when he came to visit before.

So we are excited about our day. Y’all have a good day!

  1. Oh my how great your daughter lives close enough to enjoy the big city too and stores that she is familiar with. Nice too she could call for take out. I thought the ranch might be too secluded for that. Hope you continue to feel better and by the time those results are back from the tests you'll be all over whatever it is that is going on. Take care and enjoy the time with family!
