Job Offer for George, Katy Planning a Weekend Trip Home

I didn't sleep very well last night.  Bad dreams.  Weird.  So I was awake off and on from 1 to 5 a.m.  Then of course I was ready to sleep as the alarm went off.  Oh well.  I'll try to get through the day as best as I can.  Without proper sleep it's difficult.

However, the day yesterday was a good one.  George was offered the FT job to come on board in Purchasing with the zinc mining company.  And the offer was far greater than what his former employer had paid.  We are thrilled.  I am anxiously awaiting the benefit package but we expect his insurance coverage to be really good and the price as well. So I may go back on his insurance.  He is lucky as their 401k has a match and the company also puts a significant percent in there and then matches 50% to what he puts in.  Wow.  And he doesn't really have to wait for vacation to accrue but gets a couple of weeks a year.  He gets 10 paid holidays.  I only get 8. He gets Good Friday and New Years Eve and also gets 1 floating day of his choice so I guess that makes 11 days.  Nice.

Katy called and she is coming home in July for a long weekend.  Yay!  She and a friend are flying home and wanted us to put it on our calendar.

And that is about all the news I have right now.  It's cleanse day today.  I have a lot of to do's for my office time this week if I can ever get any.  Yesterday I needed to iron so I'd have pants to wear during my power hour.  Also we went over the offer letter.  So power hour was not happening.

I should have time today for some home office time and then tomorrow I am getting my nails and toes done.  And this weekend we are going to see Mom.  So maybe Sunday I'll have some office time although probably will be doing laundry again, lol.  Oh well.  Life is always busy.

  1. Yes life is always busy, but lots of fun times too! Congrats to George on the new Job. I bet you all were doing a happy dance. Such great news for sure ! Good times coming with a trip home from you daughter too. The way time flies, it will be July before we know it. Once the weather warms up, it seems time does go faster. Just read that Tuesdays are supposed to be the most productive day of the week. Monday's set the tone, but Tuesdays we get a lot more done. Hope you have a terrific Tuesday!

    Love and hugs,
    'ma'

  2. Oh Sonya, and especially to George...CONGRATULATIONS. You have waited patiently for this great result. I hop you continue to enjoy the job and it lasts till retiring time. I am always shocked at how little holiday days you have. Over here two weeks plus another 5 bank holiday days would be the least you could have After a year irs possible you would have another week....
Anyway glad that after your very sad week you have a good week ahead....God Bless. Xxx
